Felizitas Hoffmann is a filmmaker and visual artist with a focus on experimental storytelling. She has directed numerous short films which have screened at international film festivals, including True/False Festival and Aesthetica Film Festival. She is also the recipient of The Young Ones Student Award and the ADC Talent Award.
Felizitas is a member of Hybris, an artist collective created with Natalia Jobe and Theresa Hoffmann. Hybris explores digital injustice and gender bias using performance, installations, and the moving image. Current projects of the collective include fake it till you break it, a media art installation which investigates the role of deepfakes in image-based sexual abuse. This project is supported by the scholarship Medienkunst der Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München (HFF), made possible by the Kirch Stiftung und Regina Hesselberger. Hybris has had shows in both european galleries as well as unconventional gallery spaces, receiving several residencies and awards.
As a co-founder of babyrichman, a temporary art gallery, Felizitas presents artists and curates work once a year in different locations around Munich. During the pandemic, she also founded the online bookclub wommage.
Felizitas studies Documentary Film and Television Journalism (Dipl.) at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). She is currently at work on her graduation film the weight of the moon (wt). She lives and works between Munich and Istanbul.
